Hot Ballito

Category Life & Style

Never has this over-used word been more appropriate! It's the most concise and powerful way I can describe the launch of the Hot Ballito campaign by our newly formed ilembe Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism.

No one in the room could escape the message that Boomtown Ballito (as the gateway to Zulu Kingdom) is the hottest place in the country. But more than just the spectacle of hot girls, red balloons, amazing industrial theatre, lights, music and action, was the way in which the concept of "participative marketing" came alive.

It's a concept that has always been close to my heart and in fact shapes the way ComProp does business. We believe that in order for our business to grow, Ballito needs to be going even faster in the same direction. We have always been passionate about promoting the area, and it makes good business sense. It makes the task of attracting retailers, industrialists and other business exponentially easier ...... if our spot is hot.

Collective marketing is an ingenious way for every business in the area to leverage off one simple fact - its location in one of the fastest growing nodes in the country.

As Chamber CEO. Trenley Tilbrook, so adequately explained, collective marketing has had incredible results where people work together towards a common goal to market an area as a destination. The Midlands Meander is a shining example. "One person spending R10 000 a year marketing the Midlands would get no-where compared to 1000 people spending R1 000."

The collective budget is R1million verses R10 000 - it is a no-brainer" said Trenley.

The Chamber have gone a step further, and given its members the use of the vibrant new Hot Ballito logo. Simply by using this logo on your print marketing material, website, facebook page and so on, you can be contributing to promoting Ballito and your own concern in one hot breath.

And I love the fact that Ballito is "hot", as opposed to warm or any other cosy temperature.Hot is not that comfortable. Hot means its hard to hold onto, it's moving constantly and its making a big statement.

Not sure about you but I am ecstatic to have a business in the hottest place in the country!
